Largest Hyundai crawler excavator delivered to Steenkorrel (2009-4-17)
A second unit will soon be working in a coalmine application with Terna, a major Greek power production, construction, real estate and concesion group.
Steenkorrel is a large building materials recycling company located near Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The company will use the 83 ton R800LC-7A for loading building materials waste into a 30m² rigid dump truck which feeds a stationary crusher. The production capacity of this combination is calculated to be 900 ton/hour.
The machine was delivered to Steenkorrel last week. It took several deeploaders to bring the machine in with arm and bucket detached. Van Der Spek, Hyundai construction equipment importer for Holland, had the machine up and running in no time for their proud customer.
This R800LC-7A is the first to be delivered and put to work in Europe. The machine was fitted with the right boom and arm configuration for it to be able to cope with its demanding task at Steenkorrel. The boom is 8200mm long and has a 4,53 m³ bucket mounted an 3400mm arm. The rock bucket is fitted with front and side teeth to ensure smooth penetration in the building material waste it is loading.
The 15 liter, 6 cylinder Cummins QSX15 diesel engine provides the R800LC-7A with the 517 hp of power it needs to do the job. Furthermore the machine is equipped with all necessary high-quality comfort and safety features, installed to make operators wonder: "is this work or pleasure "?
